Quality Construction
The YardMaster Apex Steel Shiplap Shed is clad with the highest quality hot-dipped galvanised steel sheets, onto a strong, galvanized steel frame. All YardMaster sheds provide a safe and secure storage space, and are manufactured from fire retardant materials. They are virtually maintenance free, and come with a 15-year manufacturer’s limited warranty, and won’t crack or warp.
Maintenance
The walls have been hot-dip galvanised and painted, both internally and externally, and are finished with a clear resin bonding for a long-lasting, maintenance-free finish. The internal framing has also been hot-dip zinc galvanised, and is made from solid heavy gauge steel. The YardMaster Shiplap Shed requires no maintenance other than the occasional cleaning of the main building and oiling of moving parts, which will ensure that your building lasts for many years.
Doors and Locking System
Straight-forward Assembly
The YardMaster Shed range of steel buildings are supplied in flat-pack form with comprehensive instructions. Assembly is simple, clean and safe, and can be completed in a few hours. A firm concrete base is recommended to make a sound job, and an anchor kit is supplied with every model. The YardMaster is predominantly a DIY product.
Metal panels have sharp edges and corners, therefore care must be taken when handling. To avoid injury, please use suitable gloves and eye protection during assembly or maintenance.
Optional Extras
This YardMaster shed does not come with a floor, however an optional support frame is available should you wish to create one. Manufactured from high strength galvanised steel, the YardMaster Floor Support Frame is highly recommended if you require an internal raised floor for your metal shed. The floor support frame is installed inside the shed (after construction) to provide a raised floor above your existing shed foundation. PLEASE NOTE: Timber is not included with the floor support frame (½” plywood or similar is recommended).

3 year review
Quick summary… Flat and level base essential, otherwise you will run into alignment issues especially when fitting the roof and assembly will take way more than 6 hours for 2 people. It has a couple of design faults, it’s not fully watertight and it’s not secure. Packaging… A couple of panels were slightly scratched as not all were protected by plastic film. Bizarrely 2 of the roof panel have a slightly different internal colour. Side assembly… Easy enough but the doors have a screw in the middle which hits the door pillars, which in turn scuff the doors. Roof assembly… I recommend if possible the roof is assembled separately and fitted in one go, using a sealant on each screw. The instructions could do with a little more attention to detail. Not quite enough of the roof frame bolts were provided. A couple of panels did not have the pre drilled holes in the exact correct place, and a few had not been pre drilled. The holes are far larger than the screws, so after fitting a few panels you may have to constantly screw/unscrew to get alignment. After the first rain… There were leaks from several roof screws so I decided to undo every single roof screw , apply silicone sealant and screw again. Water runs down the door collecting inside the base rail which will evaporate inside the shed. There’s nothing you can do about this design fault. After 3 years….. An issue, maybe with all metal sheds, despite the floor membrane and perimeter seal I applied, it has much roof condensation in cold weather. Some may be sourced via the base rail in this particular shed. You might want to consider putting insulation under the roof. It’s watertight in that there are no leaks. The location of my shed is near many large pine trees. The small gutters clog up with needles in a few days. These trees provide shelter from the wind, but if this shed were in a more exposed location I suspect strong winds would drive rain under the ridge panels which are not really wide enough. My shed is located in a secure place but the shed itself has no effective security as anyone could quickly unscrew their way in. It’s got more spiders inside it than my old wooden shed because there are so many gaps which are needed to clear condensation.
